On 11th September 2023, Deputy Lieutenant John Lee OBE was made a Lay Canon as one of the new non execs members of the Cathedral Chapter. The role of Lay Canon is to be involved in the worshipping, ceremonial and social life of the Cathedral and will become formally a member of the College of Canons.
