On Thursday 19th December, The Lord Lieutenant of Devon presented a King’s Award for Enterprise to winner ‘Sir Fix-a-Lock’, a Plymouth-based locksmith company. The company makes use of solar panels for electricity, runs a fleet of electric vehicles, and promotes products made from renewable materials.

Paul Montgomery, a locksmith and the founder of ‘Sir Fix-a-Lock’, is one of 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with the award, and one of only 29 to be recognised in the ‘Sustainable Development’ category.
Paul said at the Award presentation, “To win the King’s Award for Enterprise is truly humbling and exhilarating. The dedication of our workplace team has been incredible, and we are all honoured to wear the King’s Award emblem.”
The ceremony took place at number 3 Elliot Terrace on Plymouth Hoe, the Lord Mayor of Plymouth’s official residence. In attendance was also the High Sheriff of Devon, Commodore Jake Moores OBE DL.
