Armistice Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our Armed Services personnel in the Second World War, and in more recent conflicts around the world, including the Falklands war, which marks its 40th anniversary this year.
Shortly before 11am, in the grounds at County Hall, Exeter, Councillors and staff gathered to mark the occasion. A bugler from the Salamanca Band of The Rifles played the Last Post, which was followed by the two-minute silence.
